Doesn't seem that fast from this end but it is starting to pick up finally I think. Spent the day out in the rain hooking up the drain plumbing from the tower troughs to the sump and the supply plumbing to the fish tank. Got the Tower support bars installed and the cook placed the blocks and walk boards and brought over most of the towers needed to fill out this tower system. Tomorrow I can probably get started on the supply plumbing to the towers. Sunday might be time to move the first batch of fish.

Finally some pictures.

Was hot today! Before lunch we went over to the old place and pulled the fish out of the tower tank.

They are now in the white tank attached to ten towers. I'm thinking that isn't gonna be enough flow/filtration for them and I'll have to up-size the pump and add some more towers.

We got a little more work done on the new Big tower system. The cook got a photo with me in it so that should give a little perspective on size.

Your system's really moving along TCL, apparently this will be of gargantuan proportions when you are done (if you are ever truly done :) ). Having fun with the build too it appears. Good for you. Cheers :thumbright:

happy to see your system coming along. Where do you order your liners from and would they work well for an inground sump?

How much liner would you need to be ordering? It generally comes in 100 foot long rolls. PM me and I can try to help you out.

This white liner is not nearly as flexible as the EPDM so won't work well if your sump is to be at all irregularly shaped like an ornamental pond. There is also the drawback of liner sumps being likely to cave in if the walls are dirt and vertical

So the fish (all but one jumper) have survived the first night in their new home.

And making progress on the big system (ok really need to figure out a way to name them since this is probably not going to be the big system always.)

I still need to figure out how to put the netting up over everything to hopefully foil the squirrels.

Do you want to keep each system on independant threads TC? Is that what you are thinking?

It be less confusing to leave it all in this farm thread :dontknow:

No I wouldn't want to try to keep multiple threads going, It will all stay in this thread I think.
However, I need to figure out a way to name or tag the different systems as they come online so notes about the different systems will be easier to follow. Right now there are two systems cycling up. One fish tank is in the near front stall (a 410 gallon tank but I always think of them as 300 gallon) with a 10 tower rig hooked to it.
The other system fish tank is in the far back stall (a 1000 gallon tank that I will think of as 900 gallons of water) and has the 48 tower rig being built.

We will definitely have some media bed systems going in and there will be a seed starting greenhouse system of some sort. We will also need someplace to hook up duckweed beds and water plant beds and perhaps even a vermiponics set up. I'm also thinking of algae troughs since my ducks thing string algae is better than spaghetti. There will be a new and improved duck a ponics eventually.

Are you human?: family Hominidae

As a naming convention you could perhaps use F (foxtrot) and B (bravo) as your front and back designators, followed by a numeric descriptor such as 300 or 900 to denote the volume in gallons. Therefore your back stall system with 900 gallons of water is your Bravo900. If necessary you could further differentiate systems by adding T (tango) for towers, with a numeric quantity descriptor.
Just be careful not to designate one of your creations as a HAL9000 or you may find yourself providing inputs to a potentially nasty humanponics system.
Just an idea.
