Superveg, any time on a weekend suits me.

as for food size my jades still eat the 2mm floating pellets, though they have had the 5-6mm pellets before as well. If you only have a small number of fish, I wouldnt bother getting the bigger food. I think its more important if you are trying to get something like trout through in a single season, whereas jades and silvers you can just let go until they are ready.

Pretty impressive growth in the last week! What's happening with the fish and ammonia levels?

thanks guys! comments appreciated :D

Due to my slackness of not supporting those tomatoes, half of that particular plant has broken off and the rest looks a little sad now.. The broken part is now floating in the fish tank doing much better than the rest of the plant, and its rapidly growing roots.
I stopped adding ammonia and just have a few goldies in there now and adding some seasol every now and then...

I have heard you need to watch those cabbage babies. Apparently they can run rampant as they get older and that the older they get the harder they are to control.

Nice work SV, on the subject of IBC leveling, it should be noted that some have a built in fall towards the tap outlet at the bottom. I discovered (a bit too late) as shown in this pic - you can see the liner is higher on the left side. This is because I marked and cut the liner, then inadvertently turned it 180 degrees when i put it back in the frame, thus doubling the visual difference in the margins...
Love Monkey BTW, have the full boxed set and got the theme music nearly down pat on guitar :)

Can you empty the water and lift it ? I don't know how heavy the clay is.
You are definitely a bigger monkey fan then me, you can take my pic if you like ;)

Its not a problem functionally and only the top 100mm is hydroton, underneath it's just gravel so lifting would be difficult.... Don't worry about the pic, I think Sandy might be a more aquaponically friendly character anyway :)

Finally got my SP fingerlings today... :D
I got 25 from livefish $50 inc delivery. All arrived seemingly healthy, I gave them an hour or 2 of aclimatisation (bag floating in water + adding FT water every 20 mins).
I guess the next couple of weeks will bring out the worst in them...
