We planted passionfruit in the DIY system at the shop and it is going crazy and is covered in fruit after about 6-7 months, might have to watch the roots though.

You know its funny i was looking at the blueberries ant bunnings for about a month wondering if they grow here and of course the staff say they do but i havent heard of anyone that had success until today when i was getting seedlings there was a lady picking out a bush and i asked her. She said she was skeptical at first but got heaps of fruit until her dog decided to eat the bush.
Then i called my cousin who, unlike me, can grow anything and she was saying her blackberries and blueberries are going beserk (she lives in jarrahdale) got well over 1.5 kilo off one blueberry bush.

So there hope for all of us :D

im also trying some aussie bush foods im currently trying to germinate some bush bananna in a grow bed but most bush foods come from arid areas so ill have to wait till summer and also see if they can handle the water.
I read somewhere on here there was someone trying finger lime which are damn tasty in rum cocktails so i may even give them a try hehe.

Hmm, we installed a system for someone up in the hills and they had a couple of great blueberry bush in big pots which were producing lots of fruit. Perhaps the conditions up in the hills are a little better for them..?

I have a "successful" blueberry - one of the few things that has survived well despite a lack of attention. I have read they are a thirsty plant, requiring up to 50L of water per day per plant. I think this has made it easy to keep alive - watering heaps (only really 10L per day has been enough for mine), maintaining acidic conditions and it's been good so far - and should be fruiting in a few weeks again

:flower:

yeah i have a traditional lime tree here that has growth from the root stock Full of 2 inch long spines. i cut them back but the damn plant keeps pushing them out.

maybe they can be another dirt option...

this time of year i have so many delusions of grandeur and its just too cold to do much other than peas and cabbage...
I do have some watercress that's going nuts along with coriander so its not all bad.

Tanks both down to 8 degrees this morning... started to worry a bit.

Im thinking of getting heaters for the two systems.

Also my SLO isnt SLing and i have a bit of poop sitting on the bottom of my tank, is there any way of fixing this? My slo is 50mm with about 15 holes drilled in the end cap.
I have the same problem in the smaller system too but its pump in tank can i just sweep it to the pump?
