There must be something in the water that effects people living in the "goldfields area"
I reckon you and OBO should fill up the superpit and use that for your fish tank, that's if you think it's big enough!
Well done look forward to seeing your progress

have you thought about cutting about 30 cm off the bottom of the 5000l tank to use as a GB
the coned top of the tank can be used inverted to catch all the fish poo
seal the manhole with mine belting and stainless screws plus suitable glue
I did this and have not had to clean the bottom except for gravel that the grandkids popped in
pump should sit in centre at the bottom

Woah! Now thats the sort of first system I wanted! Absolutely fabulous! :thumbright: :notworthy: Hope you have someplace to send/sell a whole lot of veggies, and coconuts too if you like :P

It is a really big space but considering how tall it is you should look up the vertical growing tower techniques, or considering have some growing pipes/GBs to make sure you use up a maximum amount of space inside that monster.

Hope to see it all up and running soon.

hi obo i havnt seen the council yet but it shouldnt be a problem as my block is zoned as rural and the closest neighbor is 500m away. yes i have in the future plans to cover one wall with vertical growing towers / pipes as yes it would be a waste of space if i didnt. :)

hello,
i havnt done to much more to the big system up the back as im kinda still in the trial and error stage, lost about 100 barra (50 - 70cm long) due to the sump pump dying and loosing all the water but the plants and the 20 or so barra ( 18 - 30 cm long) left are doing well.
just this last weekend i have put together another system near the house that consists of 2 X grow beds and a ibc in the ground as the fish tank, i have 100 silver perch in the tank at the moment about 3 - 5 cm long.
as soon as i can i will be posting some pictures.
