Major breakthrough!

The Wife just arrived home from a work dinner, and told me that she had explained to everyone there, how AP works.
She also told them that "WE" had ordered Silver's for "OUR" latest system   Suddenly it's not just mine anymore

That's OK, Im a sharing type of Hubby! :flower:

That is a good thing! Just be sure to plant a lot of what she likes then when she runs out you can drop the hint that a bigger system will produce more of what she likes ;)

Hey Dicko,

The system is looking good. Youve had a breakthrough if Sue has finally accepted one of your hair brain ideas. Only took about 1000 to get one passed. Well Done.

Terry

Picked up 100 silvers last night, most looked over 50mm, a couple even looked over 60mm.
By the time I got home from Glenburn it was after 9pm so a quick photo to assist with counting the "final catch" and then into the tank!

By the time the acclimatizing was done it was almost 10pm.

It will be interesting to see the benefits of "Planting Fish" by the moon!

Hi VB,
Pic Should be up soon,
(along with some not so rushed shots of the rest of the system)
Went in last night and went to bed! (Knackered)
This week has been one of those weeks that small businesses dream about! ... Until it happens! :?

Really did not need to start a round trip to Glenburn at 6pm!

Hey Dicko. Merry Christmas and all that stuff!

My redfin experiment was a dismal failure. Only got about 10 left i reckon, but done really know. Where did you get the silvers from?

The reddies just died in large numbers. I have no idea why. I guess it was the shock of the transfer. I replaced the water in the tank with water from the dam i caught them in so the PH etc was the same. It would have been a bit walmer than the dam, not too much. The only thing i can think of was that i had them in a bucket with an air stone for an hour or so while i cleaned out the tank ( i didnt expect to catch them so i wasnt prepared).

the few that are left are living happily now. My system cycled about a week after i got the reddies which may have had something to do with it, but i have no idea.

Any ideas?

Cleaning the tank may have caused a big nutrient spike.

I've been a bit slack in posting over the Christmas period,
But here's a start!

Water capacity has now tripled due to the installation of 2 IBC's, :D
The original 1000L FT is now working as a sump in a CHIFT PIST System.
I recon this gives me about 2750L usable.

Tonight, I plan to start transferring the Silvers from the sump into the "Top" tanks, counting them as I go.
As yet we have not had a single floater, so it will be interesting to see what the final headcount is.
Looks to be more than the 100 I paid for :D
Just hope I don't scare too many to death with the net :(
