Bitter melon.

Thanks for sharing. I'm interested to see what kind of filtration as well. Also, how did you trellis the heavier fruiting plants in the DWC.

I pump the dirty pool water to the drumfilter then to the dwc trough.I hang the heavier fruiting plants on the skeleton of the gh.

Look awesome! How long have you been in business? Are you doing this as your only business? What is your time frame for return on investment? Did you build the green houses yourself, or have them built...very nice.
What fish species are you using. Are you keeping the system "organic"? What are you using for pest control?
Do you have climate control in your GH's? What is your source of power? Electric, Natural gas, Solar?

Wishing you all the luck in the world.

Hi,

Too many questions ha,I have operated the farm for 1 year.It is my only career.I have no idea for return on investment, but 3 month later
the farm can be profit. The gh is bulit by company.
And this time I have bass and two kinds of local carp. The system of ap is organic but without certificate.I use beauveria bassiana and other biologicals to control pest .I have no climate control, the temprature of the gh in summer is above 40 centigrade, all plants lose vigour. The system power come from Municipal power supply.

And this time I am not knowing how to control Trialeurodes vaporariorum,The humidity of the gh is dry it is good for the little ones to reproduce.

Any one have good advice to control the density of the Trialeurodes vaporariorum.Any method can not harm fish.
Thanks.

Very nice grow you have. Do you work alone? Is AP popular in your area? Are all the beds filled with plants? What else are you giving the plants for fertilizer?

Thanks for shearing your pictures.

Stone, thanks for all the answers. Without knowing availability, I have a few options for the white fly control. Biologicals include Encaria parasitic wasps, a lady bird beetle, and a predatory mite. The wasp I've used and do work well, but in an open GH like mine, they will fly off as soon as the whitefly are gone, and you will need to buy more.

Chemically, I've used Neem/ Azadirachtin, and found it very effective. I've used it on rafts and in grow beds without any fish issues. My fish species is tilapia. You also can use Wood Vinegar. It's available in Japan and Thailand, and I would think mainland China as well.

Are you American? How did you decide on commercial AP as a vocation. Huge props to you for having the courage to take that leap.

We have the same issues here in late July-early Sept.. High temps really hinder the growing. Basil, eggplant(you already know), okra, and Malabar spinach. The later is proving to be extremely fast. It's supposed to be popular in the East? It's viney, and invasive, so keep it strung up and separated from other crops or it will wrap around them quickly and choke them out.

If you're pumping direct to the drum-dwc beds, then I'm guessing you're throwing out the solids?

You need to put them into a mineralisation tank, so they can be broken down and taken up by the plants. The solids contain a lot of stuff that the plants need to get the growth you want/need. Do you have any sort of nitrification media also (to convert the ammonia to nitrates the plants take up)?

If you post some pictures of the nutrient deficient plants, I'm sure we can help troubleshoot what's going wrong.

Appreciate for your suggestion.I am very interested about parasitic wasps.but it is difficult to buy. I will try other methods of your options.
I am local man.I researched ap for almost two years.I found it is a good way to supply safe food.My area's land is pulluted, people have strong need about safe food.

I have a separate mineralization tank to mineralize the solids then pump back to dwc trough.I found my fruit veggie like tomato and cucumber are not high-yield.My nitrate is below 80ppm all the time.Do you have any suggestion?

First thing I'd look at is variety. Not all tomatoes grow and yield the same.

But what about the colour of the leaves? Is there any yellowing?

Stone, Again...great job for taking the jump into commercial AP. I wish you continued success. What is your background? Are you a farmer? You mentioned the soil is polluted, how is the air, and water? I'm assuming you have a clean source of water for the system.

You should perhaps check out Chatterson Farms thread also. He's a commercial AP in my area. Extremely high quality produce. Do you have a market for higher end/clean produce? Do you sell directly to people in the area or do you wholesale? What's your food supply for fish?

The leaves always look a little yellowing,I consider there are lack of nitrogen.
