KP - have you thought of freighing across some of EB's beds. May be well worth it if you are really going to go for those sorts of quantities.

15 beds at $350 each - $5250

Thanks for that veggie, My math is intuitive, but I had been physically restraining my self from working that particular figure out!

One at a time they're only $350, or perhaps 3 @ $1000 :-)

either way, it's the layout, not the price I want help with :-)

What's EB asking? These come with built in float switches too :-) so only about $300 ;-)

Have you a link to the thread where they are mentioned?

beds with the path down the middle is def the best of those options. If u ran a series of beds at 45 degrees from ur house wall, with access space in between, would it leave u enough room to run say 3 rows of nft on ur fence line on the other side? Thinking out loud, 3 14mtr rows of nft gives you a couple hundred plant holes to keep u in salad greens. If u have the cash it could be worth playing around with sketchup (i can't.) It may be u can fit 10-12 beds at 45 degrees and have a ton of room for 40mts nft and plenty walk space. Either way, looks like a lotta fun. Go the silvers by the way.

I agree that the first pic is probably the best - though you will have to plant sensibly to ensure that you do not beak the stuff at the front when reaching for stuff at the back. How are you going to go for sun?

45 degrees will make the gap b/w fence and growbeds only 300mm or less, not really great with them 90 degrees, there's less room than I'd like, but I can't do anything about that.

Yup tall at the back short at the front.

the avenue runs north south, so I have afternoon sheltered beds for plants that like that, and morning sheltered beds for the plants that LOVE sun

an awning from the house to fence of shadecloth has also been proposed.

KudaPucat is a Robotics Mechatronics Computer Science Software Engineer. He works as an Industrial programmer. He's looking for someone who knows real micros, board design etc, Steve thinks serious micros are out of his league... KP disagrees based on what he has seen of steve's picaxe work but...
