Well I knew I would have to bring them inside one day-I am surprised it wasn't before now, but with a forecast of 42c today I bit the bullet.

I wasn't sure how many trout I had left from the 50 I started with- I have had small losses for no apparent reason, the whole season. I even lost 1 today in the transfer even though the temp & chemistry were the same inside & out. Anyway, I have 26 left around the 150-200 gm mark.

The shade cloth is up & temporarily attached to shelter the GBs outside. Growth is quite good at the moment & after 3 years trying I have finally got some decent sized strawberries! I also have some decent lettuces - I have struggled growing them as well. Spring onions are booming & I have picked some good heads of broccoli. Having stabilised the pH around 6.2 over the past week or so must be doing some good.

Can anyone tell me if I can add too much shell grit & can I just put it in the sump? Also, how do I apply dolomite lime & at what rate? Thanks.
