Thanks Kim, I wish I had more time...I'd really like to wrap this thing up before the weather turns here. It'll be close!

Here's a picture of the floor drains. I put two drains in just in case of a pump failure or some crazy water leak situation. If that does happen, the fish tanks should never drain down, just the grow beds...but hopefully, that never happens

So...I received a shipment of all of the awesome things I need to finish the greenhouse...and my beautiful wife was there...and she asked me that fateful question...how much did that cost??? After I responded, she did this.... :upset:

Oops....

Anyway, I installed the floor drains, the sump crock, and I layed out some of the infloor drains to return the ap water from the different growbeds. This week should be really productive....I'd like to have concrete poured by this weekend and the structure enclosed by the following. The only thing that held me up today was that I forgot only one thing...the glue for the pipe!!! Oh well, there's always tomorrow...

Look awesome! Where are you at in MI? We have family in Warren, Houghton Lake, Lake Orion, and St. Clair Shores. GH look impressive. Did you look at Nate Story's videos? he has a similar heater system, only I think he uses air vents. Like you said, Winters up there get cold. Good luck!

Thanks! It's starting to come together. Hopefully I can wrap it up soon, the weather is starting to cool off. Coachchris, I live in Allendale. It's a college town just east of Grand Haven. I'm fortunate enough to live in the woods, in the center of a chunk of property just south of town. I'm far enough away from roads that I can't hear traffic, yet we're only 4 miles from the grocery store...perfect! Here are a couple photos from yesterday. I installed the aquaponic drains returning to the sump crock and we are ready to lay the insulation and infloor heat lines. We have a storm coming, so I'll wait until it passes to continue. My goal is to have this thing wrapped up in the next two weeks..haha, hopefully that's possible.

A small world it is. I can see the lights on their radio towers from my house. My wife graduated with a bus. management degree and my little sister with a nurse practitioner degree from there. I have a sand mine, and I've sent a bunch of sand there for expansions and housing. It's a very nice university.

A quick break in the action...I figured I would introduce you to my kids..

My daughter, Malyn. She's 9 yrs old, 4th grade, cheerleader, and for the first time last night, a shooter. She was born with spina bifida, and through the trials of dealing with the issues related, she has become a very special, outgoing, wonderfully independent and optimistic little girl...very proud dad.

My son, Bennet. He's 12, in the 7th grade, an avid tennis and baseball player who gets straight A's....quite the little man! I'm very proud of his tennis achievements. Last month he played in a college fundraiser tourney....he was the only non collegiate athlete in the tourney...his coach pulled some strings....anyway, he went to the finals before losing. It was amazing. Crouching by Malyn is my wife, Susan. Standing behind her is Grandpa Al.

Nice looking family Benny. Tennis is a great sport. I played junior and tried my luck on the satellite tour coming out of high school before deciding I didn't have enough money to really give that a go. No regrets, still play and coach.
If Bennett decides he wants to play college tennis, and needs any help, let me know. I can get him in front of lots of college coaches. About freshman year is the time to start the process. Congrats on Malyn's shooting skills. Will she join you hunting one day?

Jayendra, she's just learning how to shoot. Malyn wouldn't hurt a flea. I haven't hunted in 20 years, I love to shoot for sport, just not much of a hunter. We host weapons classes on our property for concealed weapons permits for local police officers and firemen. A couple friends are officers and they put on the classes. I built them a shooting range out back, so we go fire some bullets every once in a while.

Coach,
Bennet has come a long ways in his tennis in the last few years. He is in the 7th grade now, and plays in some USTA tourneys. He has one on the east side of michigan in a week or two. It's getting really fun to watch his tourneys. Western scouted him a few weeks ago at a regional qualifier. I happened to meet the father of the Western player that was assigned to watch him at the college tourney the Bennet played in, which the Western player won...anyway, super proud dad. I just need to get the greenhouse done so Bennet can do some chores to pay for those shoes!! Wow, tennis can get expensive.

USTA events are pretty key. Most college coaches look at TRN stars and rankings as a large part of their recruiting. For most larger DI schools, you need a 4/5 star or Blue Chip TRN rating. That said, his ideal school(best fit) may be a smaller DII or DIII school where tennis is important, BUT not the most important thing. If he keeps his grades up and scores well on the ACT/SAT, he can get some very good options at DII, and DIII's as well. Make it about what fits him the best and making sure that the degree and academics are up to par, and you seldom go wrong. I've also had kids that went "under the radar" due to injuries or not having enough money to play enough events to get their rankings, and have still been able to place 100% of our tennis players. If you do know already, women's tennis has twice a s many scholarships available as men's. Great if you have a girl tennis player, not so much for the boys.
