how has your experience with the ammo lock been?
have you eaten any fish?
a poster on my thread suggested they may not be edible, as the chemicals "were not intended for fish that were going to be eaten"

i have added a good bit due to an overstocking / fish density issue
and the fish are still alive, despite days of NH4 readings of 6.0-8.0 or greater

sounds like the API test kit may not be distinguishing between NH3 and NH4+ forms
thoughts??

It's been awhile since I've added anything here. I have been reading the forums off and on and still have the Aquafarm up and running.

In regards to the Ammo Lock I have learnt from using it that over an extended period it will stunt the growth of bacteria in your system to the point of having barely any Nitrate at all.

I have stopped using it now and are only using a chlorine condition with my water changes to try and get the bacteria growth back up.

I'll post some pictures in the near future as I have 3 Basil growing nicely and my chilli's are sprouting. Once it looks a bit more impressive I'll add the pics here .
