WCC-- lookin' good. I watched your video. I'm jealous... free IBC's? Still... you're running, and I cannot say the same. If your hoop-top Green house made it through winter in BC, I'd say you've done just fine.

Congrats!!

Hello Again,

Okay, looking for a little advice.

Everything in my system has come to a complete standstill, recent tests over the last few weeks have shown my nitrogen and nitrite drop off to zero levels. My PH is climbed up to 7.6.

I have had 20 goldfish in my 1000 LT FT for a month or so now after I fully cycled my system. Not enough fish?

I added another 30 small goldfish today to try and up the ammonia output and kickstart the nitrogen cycle.

Anyways, my veggies are still producing but very slowly!

Any tips or advice?

cheers.

What is your ammonia level? If it is also zero, then you may be cycled. What kind of fish feed are you using?

yes, the ammonia is also zero.

Using a standard goldfish flake feed, twice a day.

What is your water temp there mate? It looks like it cold. :)

With regards to the goldfish flakes, they dont really cut it for the plant growth. You would be better off trying to source a decent AP food as it is much better for the plants.

If the ish have been in for a month and you dont see any ammonia or nitrites then it is safe to assume you are fully cycled (we can tell from the fact you had a decent humonia dose anyway :) ). If your nitrates are 0 as well, then your plants are using it all up.

I also think that dosing with seasol/maxicrop is a good idea as well. Especially in new systems. It helps build up the nutrient levels and gives your plants a helping hand.

I suspected fish flakes... In aquariums ammonia is bad, so they formulate fish flakes to minimize ammonia production. We, however, need ammonia. Like rsevs3 said, get a good aquaculture feed. That should kick up the production.
