I looked the calculations up, did it from mem last night, Worked them out at work.
36amps day x 12v draw / 4.5h sunlight = 96w

The crucial difference is the voltage of the actual panels. The "12v" panels I sell are actually 17.1v. They are fantastic panels, but at 100w that means that they put out about 5.85 amps. That multiplied by 4.5 is 26.325 ah in a day. That is about 10 ah short.

The proper formula would be 36 ah x17.1v in /4.5=136.8.

added a fishtank lid made out of pvc shade cloth and cable ties (man there us full) has a fold out arm to hold it up.

water has cleared up 100%

how long does the cycling process take, ammonia is next to nothing atm which is good. the nitrites are getting a tad high but the fish and yabbies seem happy atm.

phoned the local fish shop to ask about the water conditions there barra are in atm so i can try match to keep the stress down. the ph is just below 7 and water temps 20-22. going to try get the ph low 7's over the next week, added no more than 1ml of ph down an hour (phosphoric acid) and try not to drop more than 0.2 a day as i have time while the cycling is happening.

yep... and they will get sucked into the pump and the fish will eat them etc etc..

your best chance is to get a bunched up heap of shade cloth or potato sack or something similar and weigh it down in a corner of your FT. Mum will take home in it and the babies will seek refuge there. You may end up with half a dozen in the end maybe.

the warmer temps and high PH you have are perfect for breeding.
