TT,

Where are you in Geelong?

I'm up in Eltham (Nth of Melb), but frequent Geelong West a fair bit.

I had the bottle shop in Minerva rd for 10 yrs. Now a self employed wine wholesaler. First job in the hospitality industry was at Bannockburn Cellars in 1989. If you have a meal down here in G West, i supply the Cremorne, Telegraph, Saleyards and Fyansford pubs. At Eltham you are just around the corner from Kangaroo Ground Fish Farm! They are firing up a commercial AP system and it is where i will be getting my SP and feed from. They are supplied by Grobest in Qld for their fish food. I live 2mins from G West in Hamlyn Heights.
What brings you to Geelong West?

What brings me?

Love brings me :love10:

My girlfriend is in Hope street, just off Packo.

And I sure am just around he corner form Kangaroo Ground. My folks are just the other side in Panton Hill. So once this system is up and running I will certainly look the fish farm up.

OK, not my AP setup, but a little collection of things that might end up playing a role in either that or my frog-pond in planning ;-)

Couple of 60L storage boxes from the “B” ($12 each) have made temporary homes for:

- A couple of different plants (Duckweed, Azolla (2x sp), native Milfoil and Crassula
- 8x White Cloud Mountain Minnows (Tanichthys albonubes) in the middle pond
- Japanese Rice Fish/Medakas (Oryzias latipes) in the right pond

Yes, I thought about that.

However at $12 each versus a 200L blue barrel for $18 (i.e. 2x 100L growbeds), they're still not as cost effective.

Maybe more simple to use though?

I saw a 500L version last week in a B store for about $150'ish which seemed like great value for volume.

I got mine from overflow... for about $6 or $7... so they were cheap, but I too would lean towards the blue barrels :)

Nope.

Quite a sturdy black rectangle poly one. Much the same shape as the 60L ones I pictured above.

It was pretty weighty and heavy duty which is why it seemed like such good value.

Will be heading near that store again on the wekend, so might drop by to check and confirm details.
