In the pic is the 50mm SLO hole i didnt end up using. Also is the divert from my pump that is used to circulate the water and extra air. Near my SLO is the stand pipe too :shifty:

The GB seems to be sagging a bit due to the weight. I think thats caused the screw lids silicon to have a hole/leak in it. I hope it can hold it as moving the media will be a pain in the ass!

Thanks freoboy, been meaning to that for a while now

I just have been lazy getting down to bunnings :D , will organise that this weekend hopefully

Do you have any ideas what the plants may be lacking? Could it just be that the system hasnt cycled and now all the leaves are getting enough nutrients?

Ammonia 2
Nitrite 0.5
PH 7.4
Nitrate 0-5

Pretty excited too as i see little shoots coming from below the media level. I chucked in a bunch of random seeds in just to see what happened lol. I thought they were gonners as i didnt even have the system cycled. So about 8-9 days in they sprouted. I think they are mostly carrots so will see if they grow but will probably move them out to plant the seeds i really want when the system is fully up and running

Needed a tool for the water test viles. Pouring water from a water bottle into it is frustrating.

I bought 10 5ml syringe from ebay (they are plastic in sterile packs with no needles). Will try them tonight.

You might want to do something about that sagging bed sooner rather than later, otherwise you might end up with a real mess....

The easiest way to get the level in the test tubes right is just to flick your wrist... try it a few times... it doesn't take long to get the hang of it...

What would you recommend EB? I was thinking about treated timber but with the water splashing around i would think something would leech into the FT.

Do smaller flicks when you get close... it's all in the wrist action...

Not treated timber. It is likely to leach into your system and cause problems. What about some 90mm pipe?

Hi Arbe would it matter if it gets splashed by water? Also is it better to put it under the whole metal frame of the GB or in between the frame and the GB?
