But most exciting of all - the new (second-hand) fibreglass roof is going on. They're Kathy's Christmas present.

First sheet off:

The old roof was about 95% light-rejecting...

But the big question is... how am I going to put the sheets on above the Aquaponics Flower?

Hmm, maybe. About 70% of my job is straight IT; a further 25% is spent in front of a computer. I wish it wasn't.

But then, I ran a gas line under my house the other day - 25-odd metres of crawling on my belly.

Every job's got its ups & downs.

I should have been a farmer - but I wasn't born into a farming family, and it's kinda hard to get into otherwise.

Got half the roof on yesterday.

Once I got above the Aquaponics Flower it had to be done hanging by my toes from a ridge ladder. Not much fun.

Much more light now:

Next weekend; the other half.

Actually, I'm just up the road from you right now; in Perth today for a meeting, flying out first flight tomorrow.

Thanks, mantis.

There's already several small but rapidly-growing beans, the peas are going gang-busters, and the broccoli is the best I've ever seen.

I can't wait (Rupert?) for some fishes to start pooing in the water...

Hmm, yes, it would be crap.

It's so brittle and shedding so much fibre, it will be difficult to take to the tip, let alone put on a roof...
