there growing pretty good. aren't they aqua?

The pipes aren't fully level so some are flooded higher than some but the highest water level is about a inch and a half form the top off the pipe.

I am thinking about doing a flood and drain but not to let the pipe drain out so it would be a 'alternating Level grow system' to catch the best of all styles off growing.

CG.. thinking that flood and drain might allow more oxygenation to your roots.... might lessen the root rot you're experiencing in some of your plants....

either that or drop your levels in the pipes a little...

are the plants suffering root rot those in the pipes with higher levels??

Nah the ones in the pics are cabbage and cauliflower these where in the system the same time as the lettuces but the lettuce had root rot and the cabbage didnt.

the lettuce roots would grow very quickly then root rot would kick in a decimate my poor roots. but the cabbage in the same system, in fact just 8inches away kept growing unaffected by the root rot.

So i took out the lettuces and add a little shade over the system to keep temps down. when all the root rot bacteria (Pythium) is gone i will add some lettuce again and see if the direct sunlight was the problem.

The way you have it setup sounds similar to DWC (deep water culture). Can you increase the flow of water and maybe add a venturi to increase oxygen levels in the tubes? According to the info AA had, dwc required turnover of the containers/pipes of 6 - 8 times per hour to keep high oxygen levels.

Why did you need to move it over 12 feet? Or is this just what you do when you're bored? ;)

i like the idea of having a modular system that's portable and virtually self supporting
