Thanks guys. I am excited. I didnt think i would get anywhere near this size. Being a virgin system, food fish wise, i was a bit conservative on the food for the first few months.

Haha im still here! I seem to read everyone else's thread except my own.

Well, 1000th post is going to be a good one. Update time!

My cherry tomatoes were going out of control looking for some sunlight. They were only getting worse since the last update and i have been a bit lacking in time to take care of it. Until yesterday. :D I cut out a whole heap of the bush and strung them up like so. I am hoping that this will give the plants some more sunlight as well as let a bit in down below them. This photo really shows, yet again, what the difference a few hours of sun can make. I lost a fair few flowers in the trim up which is my own stupid fault for letting them go so long. Hopefully over the next few weeks they will really start powering along though.

Image

I have also ripped out all the broccoli. I didnt even get close to getting anything from those plants. Broccoli is stupid anyway, i never wanted it :P So in its place i have put corn and radishes. I dont know if i have made a mistake with the corn, hopefully it wont grow too tall or get knocked over by the wind. There is still the onions in there. I am getting mixed results with those. I dont know why...

Image

You can see the silverbeet is going gangbusters, but if you can grow that in you AP then your doing it wrong :P The chives are starting to show a little life also and the capsy is starting to grow and flower.

Image

On the lower left below is a new capsicum i put in. Its a mini sweet chocolate variety that i am very interested in trying. There is also a few radishes along the bottom where the snow peas were. Oh yeah i ripped the snow peas out, they had run their course.

Image

Here is a shot of the capsicum doing its thing. This will be its second year so i dont know how well it will go. The lady at the local hardware store said that she had capsicum plants go for many seasons, so hopefully this one will too. It has been with me since the start of my vegie growing attempt, making it near on 2 years old. So far it is looking promising.

Image

This is one of the reasons why i have not had much time for my tomatoes. Teaching my sister to 4wd :D

Looking great Ryan. What sort of temps are you getting up there at the moment?
You could try a pumpkin and train it all over the back yard!!

What is the fish status? Have you eaten any recently?

Hi Ryan, good luck with the corn. I find it better in the dirt garden and found the black capsicums horrid. Hope you enjoy the chocolate ones, I like mine sweet and red. Keep up the good work and thanks for the update.

Freebz it is days like that when you forget about how much of a money pit 4wd's are. It was a lot of fun.

Marc the temps have been perfect for the trout over the last month. I pulled a couple out a few weeks ago but have left the rest in. Water temps have been maxing out at around 19degC which is about perfect for growth. Although a few days it has been a bit higher and they have gone off their feed. They will all be out this weekend though. A few will get cooked up and the rest vac sealed if i can find a unit for sale. On Sunday it is forecast for 30, so definitely time to get them out. Should be about perfect for the silvers to go in :) I had thought about pumpkin but i thought i had read somewhere that they didnt do so well?

Did they taste anything like chocolate faye? I saw it and thought i would give it a whirl although red ones are definately my prefered option. The corn i was never sure what to expect, so i cant really get disappointed by it :P
