I had cucumbers late last year - what you see there are melons - watermelon and rockies.

Ive had a few luvvvvly rockies off the plants. Including 1 that would have weighed in excess of 3kg. Then, only days before the stalk dried off n it was ripe to pick, a durty durrrty rat got into it

Struggling to keep em outta the patch, actually. Ive trapped 4 thus far, but they just seem to keep coming back and eating any of the fruits - including jalapenos and fire chillis!

Heya Skipper -

The trout n SP went together just fine. They spent a few
Months together before trout harvest with no injuries nor fatalities. I watched them pretty dutifully to ensure cohabitation happiness! I left the SP in the system and popped the barra in @ 100mm. Both the SP and barra are still together n seemingly happy. I have a vid of them playing happily with one another - I'll try n get around to uploading it for y'all. This includes my absence from the system for periods upto 10 days without feed, other than bugs n algae!

I know mingling potential savages such as barra/trout with SP is generally regarded as being fraught with peril, but my experience has shown that it is doable in both cases (which is nice to know if running long term fishstock such as SP).

Your mileage may vary!

Thats great news BT. I am presuming that your SP were the original inhabitants of the tank?
Those were some awesome pics of your plant growth. My plant growth is still just Ok.
I am going to try gravel instead of bluemetal for my next GBs.
Another thing which I will try soon is not washing so much soil off seedlings when planting.
Woops, strayed of the subject there a bit.
I trust all is well with you and your system BT. Good luck for the upcoming trout season.
Are cohabitating SP and trout again?
Take care and have a great day.
Skipd. :flower:

Hmm maybe, perhaps you could give TM a call? Otherwise I could probably give you 10 or so, doesn't look like we"ll be moving soon so I'm going to watch my levels and decide if I need to get rid of 5or10

3 monthly update!

Monster zucchini. Tommies sprouting from seeds dropped after last summers bumper harvest. Plenty of melons still fruiting, but I'm beaten to them by the dalmatian!

Still have my barra in the system, and am in a quandry as to what to do with them. Too small to harvest. Too big to aquarium. Shed + insulated tank + heater over winter? Donated to an aquarium shop?

Spent a week fishing in Steep Point (Shark Bay), followed by a few days in Carnarvon and finally getting to fish Exmouth. Steep Point - bountiful with fish. Carnarvon - shows promise. Exmouth - frustratingly, no fish to be caught! Fish caught included: Spanish mackerel, bluefin and yellowfin tuna, cobia, marlin (hookup, breach, then spat the hook!), spangled emperor, black snapper, pink snapper, rankin cod, huge nor-west tailor, coral trout, massive garfish, coronation trout, etc etc etc. We bought home about 60-70kgs of fillets in a chest freezer from Steep Point alone - and that was just the fish we kept!

30 of Gav's trout arrive Friday. BB, SP, and goldies still growing strong!

I bought a smoker a few weeks back, FB. I've actually smoked more sausages in it than I have fish so far! Between the weber and the smoker, I expect they will cop a proverbial flogging once I dip into the fish fillet supplies from up north!
