5 dead this morning and I am not happy. Will get trout from Ballarat in future

Not good Richard, I'd ring him, 5 out of 20 is too many.

I never lost 1 from him, started losing silver the day after I got them though.....

yeah 10% is acceptable, but not 25% losses

Agreed ! But I wouldn't be happy with 10% either

I put 150 trout in my large FT yesterday and if I had 15 dead, I'd have something to say.

Fortunately with Troutman, no such problems occur.

Whats the latest on the trout

Hi Mantis, can we ask, why do you salt? This is our 3rd season of trout and we have never salted.

I salted as a precaution against stress with the new fish, but I think there is more going on than just stress. I havent salted before getting new fish either before this.

Got back today after a couple of days away and found 3 more dead trout, so 8 so far

Will do water tests tommorow but pretty sure the water aint the problem

Have you called the supplier you got them from

i would suggest followed by and a bit off until they give you some more fish

lossing that many just aint right

All but 3 fish dead or swimming upside down this morning so I pulled the lot and fed them to the chooks. Drained and flushed and cleaned the system and refilled. Will chuck a few goldfish in it tommorow and see how they go.

bugger will you get some more trout or not bother?
