Thanks TT

Got the timer today for the tank pump, it has 14 on/off settings per day.
I have worked out that running the pump for 5 min half fills the GB's and takes them 35 odd min to drain. (once the media is in GB's it should nearly fill)

So the big ? is what times to run pump.
Was thinking
5am 7am 9am 10am 11 am 12pm 1pm 2pm 3pm 4pm 5pm 7pm 9pm 11pm
this will leave 6 hours down time at night.

Should the down time matter?

Eventually the grow pipes will be commissioned again and the water will be turning over 24hrs a day, but for now any advice is welcome :)

hey gnash,

if you join the ends of the growbed feed pipes with T's ect you will get a more even flow of water to the growbeds. does that make sense? if you have a high pressure pump this may not be necessary. just a thought.

Have nutted out a fairly even flow to each bed just wondering if having 6 hours down time is o.k.

Yeah but only at night, I have second little pump atm just circulating water for aeration which will eventually be used to run grow pipes.

remember that the fish are still producing ammonia all night, even when they are not feeding, the bacteria don't go to sleep and the plants will still have uptake all night too

Gnash's sure fire way to wash gravel

1) Get gravel (in this case scats) in little green AP trailer
2) Park on lawn
3) Put air con bleed off on Scats
4) Go inside drink beer and play on comp
5) repeat 4 until scats are washed (this could take a couple off days)

Love it Gnash, if you want the gravel very clean, just drink until it rains instead :)

condenser of the air con condenses water out of the air. There is a bleed off pipe to drain this water.

My air conditioner is an evaporative model, thus it uses water running down pads. A fan in the unit pulls air through them (the pads) causing a cooling effect (think coolgardie safe)and blows the cooler air through the house.
The off set is water bleeds out of the system (bleed off)so it does not remain stagnant.

(and in my view cause legionaries disease but in steves view does not  he is the air con guru btw)

Scats are rocks that do not go all the way through the milling process on mine sites, they are either to hard or to heavy and spill out the front of the mills.
