The propeller is a micro with eight cores or CPUs on a single chip manufactured by parallax. I am using it to write to an SD card in CSV format. I could do it with a much cheaper less powerful micro but the prop has a soft spot in me. Plus just assigning a task its own CPU makes it miles easier :) Especially when it comes to having a serial link to the RaspPi and reading sensors and processing data.

Haha, overkill !
I have no idea how to write for multiple cores. Totally separate sections of code ?

Essentially SV, yes. It is 8 cores with a shared hub memory that can be accessed in a round robin fashion. Once you get your head around it, it is actually really handy and easy.

This is the block diagram just to give you an idea.

Freebz, you are probably aware being a mech eng, but that is still a used fashion of logging :)

When we had to pressure test the new pipework for our water injection pump that is exactly what they did.

So i got 20 silver fingerlings for when the trout have vacated the IBC system. SO i thought "I will put them in the bottom aquarium for a few months and they will grow a bit bigger than they would otherwise with the warmer water." This of course required moving my yabbie Pinchy. So i set up my original aquarium for him, moved his house and chucked him in there. He was happy as for a few days. Went to the beach yesterday arvo, got home and he was in the middle of the floor dead as a door nail. :( Poor pinchy climbed out his tank. I really liked that stupid yabbie. :support:

On a brighter note, the silvers have settled in. Well as much as a skittish fish such as silver can. They have not fed yet, but i have recently found a yabbie tail that is not needed any more.

Also, despite being told not to by someone who knows, i shone my torch in the bristlenose cave very briefly and saw babies in there living on their yolk sack. So there will be party times ahead in Aquarium World, Aquarium World! Excellent!

I just realised, it took just 2 weeks for them to breed.
Thats pretty awesome!

The hardest thing about BN is getting them to 1.5cm.
Generally they will die from starvation.
They need food, lots of food.
Basically throw in the wafers and some zucchini slices, next morning suck out remaining wafers and throw in new wafers.
Leave zucchini in for around 3 days until it starts to get some fungus then replace, unless it gets eaten first, then replace.

Good luck :)

A quick update. The bristlenose are doing very well. I am half considering chucking the male in the other tank in case i cant sell all the baby ones i have now. Certainly not complaining though! I am seriously happy with how well they are going.

Sorry for the crappy photos. For the full update see my blog, BYAP usually gets the first and best update but with all the upgrades i have been waiting. Plus im too lazy to type it all out again :P
