Chris,

I was out of town for the cold front but I'm excited for the temps to drop. Best time of the year is right around the corner.

I had some of your hot sauce the other day, I mixed it in some ketchup and dipped my fries in it haha. I usually use siracha but your sauce was much better.

Sam-
Me too. Probably more for the landscaping and STAR filming aspects, but also for the growing time! Glad you liked the hot sauce, I've been selling quite a bit locally.

Water temp is down to upper 70's at night, low 80's during day.
After a few days of steady feeding, nitrites are back over 1 again. Going to keep feeding and monitor and see if bacteria can "catch up". Still no ammonia anywhere.

Plants in GH are doing well. Try and get some pics this week.

That's good to hear. I'd love to see what the Kaldess in your MBBR looks like at that stage. Mine is still as clean as the day I put it in.

Sounds promising coach! Hopefully they will catch up.

Found a large floater Koi in the koi tank today. Much harder to bury a koi then a tilapia. He(she?) had been dead for quite a while, so to hard to determine cause. Still no ammonia in that tank. I think the dead fish has them spooked...they didn't take feed today? Everything else is fine. nitrites at .25-.5, temp around 80F,

Not looking promising. After feeding moderately for the last few days, it looks like nitrites are steadily increasing. Staying above .5, and closer to 1. I'm still feeding and dosing, but afraid to take the koi above 1ppt for very long.

Coach,
How do you know what your chloride level is at this point?
Do you test for Cl?

I use a hand held meter. Which reminds me, it too low right now...I need more salt. It's pretty accurate. I tested it when I first bought it using my RO water and salt.

Ok. Good. Didn't know if you had a way of measuring.

Tired of tracking dirt into the FH, so took a few leftover pavers and made a little landing.

Did a partial water change this AM, and I'm still feeding. Currently, nitrites are around .5.

AP is doing great since the weather cooled. Picked most of the basil last night and made a nice batch of pesto. Will make either fish or sirloin burger(if I don't catch any fish) with fresh thyme and basil for dinner.

Lost a large tilapia in the spa. No breeding inside tank, outside spa, FH breeder aquariums, or plastic pond. Thinking of digging a larger pond for tilapia in the early Spring. That's what the guy I bought my fish from did, and his fish breed like crazy in there.

I bought a 2002 Blazer for my daughter , who is moving to Colorado. I've been working on it for the last week. So far...new intake gasket, valve cover gaskets, thermostat, hoses, belt, heater core(a 12 hour job alone), blend door actuator, plug wires, plugs, fuel filter, coolant flush, new tires, new shocks, and of course L.O.F.

Now having a weird issue with inside lights and 4WD switch. Fuse was blown, tracked and replaced. Everything works fine, until passenger door is opened, and then fuse blows? I haven't been able to find anything about this. I can get to the door switch behind glove box, so thankfully, don't need to remove dash again. Just not sure what's going on. Other then that, it should be ready for her.

The guy really was a scammer. The motor was dry and all fluids looked good. When I checked the radiator, there was just water- no coolant. I asked him why, and he said "it has the new clear coolant in." I immediately got very concerned, and they(wife) sensed my concern. The wife pulled me to the side and said that he had early stages dementia and got confused sometimes. The heater core had been capped off, but the lines were rigged under a factory looking wrap zip tied together to block inspection. When I test drove the truck, she immediately turned the AC on. I didn't think much of it, due to the fact that it was in the upper 80's. That was to cover the intake gasket leak on the back of the motor between 4 & 6 cylinders. When we got back and parked the truck, the water that was leaking under truck looked like the AC drain. Any coolant color, and I would have been able to see it. I understand "as is", but to deceive people and then lie about it really pissed me off. My buddy said he would go over and punch the guy in the face. I told him I had indeed thought about it, but decided against. He is over 65...probably 66-67. There is a law against assaulting the elderly that is pretty strict here. Scott's(buddy) thought on that was: "If you're old enough to play that game, you're old enough to take an ass whipping." lol I love Scotty.

For my local mechanic to do the work that Eric & I did this week, not including tires, it would be over $3000.00. The guy and his wife knew this. He was asking $4000.00 for the truck, and I paid $3200.00. But, if I had known what was wrong, I would have given him maybe $1500.00 Body is rust free and 4.3 engine runs good, so she should get 100-150K without too many problems. Buyer beware. Clear antifreeze. Should have ran. :D
