Little update.

PH - 6.9
TEMP - 25deg
AMM - 0
NITRI - 0
NITRA - Higher than 160
SALINITY - 0 (first time Ive checked in a long time and all salt seems to have all gone)

Artichoke bulb poked its head out recently, pineapple is loving the warmer weather, cleaned all the broad beans and onion out, chard doing its usual awesomeness and tommies starting to pop up everywhere. Wicking buckets are doing really well. DWC is officially off line, well... I moved yabbies into it and removed all plants.

The miniature nectarine tree has me a little concerned and hoping someone can help out, there must have been approx 20 -30 odd nectarines originally after bloom and a lot of them had started to grow but then stopped, shrivelled and dropping off, there is only a handful that seem to be going ok, any idea's?

Few pics..

Have you looked at the rootball of your nectarine tree? You want to make sure there is no dirt on it. Otherwise it will just become an anaerobic dead mess.

Fruit drop is often a sign of insufficient pollination. I don't know anything about what sort of thing nectarine trees need for good pollination though or if they are self pollinating or if there are male/female flowers or if you need another tree or certain insects or what.

No leaf curl? That blackness seems a little like my dwarf one which gets this black goo from the leaf curl.

The leaves look ok, well generally the tree looks fine. Id say TC is right with pollination issues.

What type of nectarine is it? The one I just bought is self pollinating (so the label says). I thought most varieties of Nectarines were self fertile. Though perhaps bee's can still help? check out this post -

http://www.agric.wa.gov.au/PC_91811.html?s=0 it says 30% increase in fruit setting with bees about...

Thanks matty, I think from memory it was something like red leaf miniature nectarine.

Edit: This looks like the one http://www.plantnet.com.au/dwarf-sunset ... nectarine/

says its self pollinating? What effect would fruit fly have because we have those around.

The AP artichoke is going gang busters :headbang:

Can someone tell me how you know when its ready? Ive read that you need to harvest before the petals open but it kinda looks like its starting to do that. Im not sure
