BT = Bacillus thuringiensis
There are a few different varieties but subspecies kurstaki is used against leaf eating caterpillars. It is a bacteria that attacks the guts of the caterpillar after it eats it and the caterpillar gets a belly ach, quits eating and dies a few days later. There is also a different version that works against mosquito larva and it is the active ingredient in Mosquito dunks.

i just read that you can use cucumbers to deter pests... i haven't tried it yet, but you just cut up a cuke, and place the cut pieces into an aluminum pie thing.. i haven't tried it yet,, all our cuke's are going to make cucumber water (with ginger and lemon)

Thought I would show you all (ya'll southern slang) my Naga Bhut Jalokia mini plant

If you remember the chocolate habanero plant (tree) it's still there and still producing
hundreds of peppers.... so many I give them away as often as I can...

The Naga Bhut Jalokia (ghost pepper) is catching up fast.....
