It's nearing the end of the slow season at work Charlie haha.
I think I have to give up the venting corner though, my tongue is nearly bleeding from biting it so much.
Until this growbed is online I think there will be a few more late nights of reading still to come!
Bee-keeping is also on the agenda, but I think it will have to wait till I have a bigger yard.

Ok; some more photos!

The uniseals didn't arrive on Friday so we spent a very wet Saturday getting the pond into a hole. I woke up at 7am to find that my very enthusiastic OH had been up for about 2 hours digging so my bit was quite easy.

We've found that after settling it's not quite level though, so there's a bit more work to be done. For now though, I am happy with where we're at.

Digging is always the best. Lucky your other half is keen to get into it.

What did you do with all the spare dirt?

Lucky it's really soft black sand. Horrible to dig in Summer when it falls back into itself, but just like wet beach sand when it's wet.

The spare dirt will get mixed with some bentonite and other good stuff to go into raised garden beds against the back wall shortly. It has zero nutrient content or water retention by itself unfortunately.

Dom's work doesn't indulge his blokey side at all right now, so he's happy to get out there and do 'man stuff' *insert grunting here*. He's sporting two Wiggles band aids at the moment though haha.

Not AP, but very happy to see snowdrops pop up in a neglected garden bed :-)

I love snow drops! On yeah, sounding very blokey there!

Got them in the front yard, are awesome! And survive in the adelaide summer and my barren front yard.

Haha super blokey ;-)
They survive Perth's crazy weather too. I feel like I should have a whole field of them purely on that basis. I might pop some bulbs in around the AP setup to up the pretty factor.

Gah... It looks like I need to replace ALL of my flexible tubing! So many tiny leaks. Had to top up the tank this morning and it will be Masters on the way home tonight I think!

Pond is looking much cleaner! Bit of black sand was knocked in initially, so I will siphon that out later, but it is so good to be able to see the fish clearly :-D
And the runaway tomatoes are getting bigger and bigger!

That's a supermarket variety - not a cherry self sown - probably a composted tomato. Won't taste too good I don't think but will have vigorous growth

Hmmmm I wondered if it might be as I thought I'd caught all the cherries and pulled them. It must be a leftover from when the chooks were free-ranging.

Sometimes you get a volunteer that's a cross pollination of 2 varieties you had last year :) really exciting.

Well considering I have some cool heirloom seeds now and more to come, that's an exciting prospect for next year :-)

Hoping to get the bed plumbed in tomorrow but I'm doing it Hans Solo, so it could be slow going.
