Hope Everyone had a great Easter break,

We have 60 Rainbow Trout coming next week, what should we do with our 10 Goldfish. Will trout and goldfish live in harmony or should we move them out?

Depends on the size difference Hopefulls. Trout will NAIL little goldies, but they only have RELATIVELY small mouths.

Well we are excited, we collected our fish today. We were able to catch all the goldies, although 4 gave us a really hard time and with the cover being stapled to the tank there wasnt alot of chase room available.

Taken a photo of the growth in the vegie department. This is the growth that 10 goldies were able to support for 4 weeks.

added bonus, we received our chemical test kit in the mail today. Thanks Joel.

PH 6
Ammonia 0.5
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0

We do have a fish smell happening, not sure if that is because 50 odd trout poop somewhat more than 10 Goldfish. Something we will need to keep an eye on over the next few days.

They are still a little skitish. We are used to goldfish coming for the finger suck at feed time. The trout go into bolistic mode when we undo the zipper, 2 floaties tonight. Hoping it was only the stress of the move and nothing more sinister.

Hey Scott nearly forgot to mention we got them from Tooperang Trout Farm. They werent selling them any smaller than these and they were around the $1.25 each mark.

trout are much more excitable Than goldies. Also, don' t like warm water and low dissolved O2.

Very nice looking system. What are the grow beds lined with?
