Well this afternoon was a lot worse than I expected. Come home to a backyard of dog biscuits and firelighters everywhere. The wife runs a salon from home and one of her clients kids was "playing" in the backyard.
Pulled out an icecream containers worth of dog bics from the ap tank.
Am just doing a 40% water change and salting to 2ppt. Fingers crossed nothing bad happens.

Tank water quality is great now. Nice and clear.

I started removing a couple of rainbow chard i have had in there for a while. Maybe left them in too long as the root ball for each plant is HUGE.

That is less than half of one plant. How important is it to remove it all?
If I get the bulk out, the worms should take care of the rest hey? Might grab some more worms out of the worm farm and chuck them in.

Anyway, its nearly trout time. Getting excited to have my first lot of trout!! :D

Wow that is an impressive rootball. Do you take the time to remove all the expanded clay balls and put them back in the GB? At their price I am sure it is worth it.

Let us know how the trout goes.

Regards, Martin.

Yea sure do Martin :)
Taking 3 of these out so would have a big dent in the grow bed if I didn't. Haha
Pain in the butt to do but. Might have to get a spare bag for top ups.

A little trick with the root balls is just leave it sitting on top of the media like you have and when it all dries out you can easily crumble all the media out. Or, stick it in a bucket of water and work at it like that.

;)
