Hello Charlie

the Aquarium is an aqua something 70l from petbarn. salinity is 10ppt, some black and white gravel and plastic plants as hiding places, heated to 27 degrees for the Barramundi which were a little bit weak.

I will end up with some mollies or guppy when it is not longer needed as barra hospital.

I make some pics when I get home.

Cheers

That is a good question Charlie.

This is also my first aquarium together with the first try in AP.

There is a box after the pump with some ceramic noodles in it, some filter material, some netting for additional bacteria growth i guess. I tipped a small bottle of starter bacteria in it because of the condition of the barramundi.

I relocated the fish today again and the fish was so well that it was nearly impossible to catch them even in such a small enviroment. They were 2 with 100mm each and one around 130mm.

Now there are 2 cherabin in the aquarium and it is big joy to see them feeding on crushed pellets and the nibble on some kang kong leaves which i stuck in there. All the other plants are just plastic at the moment.

I got a hand of the Mt. Bundy Granite today and did a vinegar test just to be sure. Result looked fine, i will get a load on Thursday morning for the blue drums... the plants are already waiting to get into the system (Dwarf Lemon, Dwarf Valencia Orange, Red Onions together with to be relocated garlic chives and spring onions, one Birds Eye chili bush and for the 5th drum some zucchini).

Soo, busy day today (it pays off to start a hangover day with some heavy work).

Washed a 3/4 tonne off 10mm granite (found lots of fool's gold) and filled the blue drums.

Planted lots of stuff. Pictures will follow tomorrow.

Bloody air compressor is pretty loud and vibrates the hell out off the fish tanks. I have to get some 10 meter of air hose and move the compressor out of the shipping container and set up the backup battery.

The two sump tanks are now populated with 20 odd cherabin and the other one with 2 red claws (females) and i have to get some more.

We had our first rain since 5 months or so today, another plan for tomorrow is to have a look around the second hand building supply shop, maybe i can get my hand on some clear roof sheets to minimise water intake through rain.

System looks great.

Ive found that hanging the piston pump (assuming thats what compressor your talking about?) is the way to go.

Yes, the piston pump.

Interesting, haven't thought about that. So you mean small platform suspended on chain and a spring on top?

Is there a picture of your solution in your thread?

Ooo, lucky Im a legendary search function master! Pics you want - pics you get! ;)

I just suspended mine inside of an electrical box by a hose strap but you could use twine or zip tie etc
