It's only about 1/4 to 1/3 of one bed, not too much... Well, and no, really you can;t have too much, I love it, use it a bit like a vegetable.

This is my little bonsai conifer. It's growing on a foam float surrounded by a lovely little patch of moss. Both the conifer and the moss came up randomly, I'm surprised the conifer survived and I have no idea where it came from, there aren't many nearby.

Notice the the mottled look around the side of the tank, this is where the silver perch chew the algae. The interesting thing is that they seem to only eat it in the area between the high and low tide of the flood and drain area. Below that level there's lots of algae growing on the side, but they don't chew seem to eat it as much.

Weather was a bugger yesterday, strong winds flattened all the veggies at the exposed end of my system..

Peas starting to take off, they were a bit slow starting, but hoping they will now overtake everything else. I'll keep track of these, see how long they take to hit the top of the mesh..

I have to work on the pics, it's a bit hard to make things out, it's just a green mass.

Noticed this evening that there's one bean plant in my system that has HUGE leaves, 2-3 times the size of other plants. I planted two varieties and they are coming up in all the beds but this one particular plant has much bigger leaves than any of the others... Also the first to flower and larger growth than all the other bean plants.. If it produces just as well I'll be keeping some seeds of this one..

:shifty: Aaah, that would be the magic beans young man. Can't wait to see what sort of pods they form.
Just realised if you don't turn up for work one day I shall have to get a search party for that jungle of yours :thumbright:

Damn rats and mice.... :upset:

They have demolished all of my broccoli and even the snow pea plants. They are also starting to chew back the cauliflower plants as well... Man, I've not seen them quite as destructive before, I've had them eat the broccoli flower heads and cauli heads, but never chewing back the leaves and shoots, nor the stems of snowpea plants...

Very annoying...

Assorted broccoli and cauliflower, I basically don't have a plant left that will produce anything...
