Did you buy it as a plant, or did you start it from seed?

JT, what are the dimensions of your greenhouse? Are you able to completely supply your vegetables with it, or do you still need to buy some? I'm sure the answers are somewhere in this thread but I wouldn't know where to begin looking.

Hey CC...

we get approx. 80% of the vegetables we want from the greenhouse and two outdoor systems... there is very little we buy from the store.... we even have some varieties, that we just sell, like the chocolate habs, bhut jalokia and different basils

this year I'm hoping to buy even less now that we have an Asparagus and potato patch in our dirt garden...

forgot to tell you the GH size...

it's 12' x 33' (3.7m x 10m)

it's attached to the south side of my garage... a lean-to style... the ceiling is a little low
but it's easier to heat when necessary

Love ya work JT :headbang:

How did you fit the drain lines to the main planter pipes? Did you just drill the holes then silicone them in?

Cheers

were you asking about the AP system or the NFT pipes?

on the main system I used uniseals inside the FT as well as for the bell siphons in the GB's

on the NFT pipes, I drilled an under size hole and trimmed it out enought to screw a fitting in and then siliconed it.... having the thinwall pipe is not thick enough, but with the end cap on the pipe it makes it about 4 times as thick so you can thread it..

Have you got anything in place to stop the pipes from rotating in the brackets? I had a HSM a while ago when a pipe "capsized", caused by the top-weight of the plants, which resulted in the system pumping dry.

hey bunson

thanks for the heads up... no nothing in place right now....

the water comes directly out of a 1450 gallon (5488l)
so it would take quite a while to pump dry :thumbright:

I have a couple ideas on stabilizing the pipes

thanks
JT

went out to the GH this morning....

and noticed a few toms had been topped of a little... it was mostly the cherry toms which
didnt matter as they are almost done anyway.....

so I looked a little closer....

tomato green horned worm.....it was huge..... so had to cut it into three pcs. and chucked
it into the FT..... it didnt last long....

so I started pulling out the cherry toms as they have run their course...

much to my surprise.... after all said and done, I picked off 15 total..... I didnt see
any yesterday.... they are quick... but I was quicker... they did very little damage...
