Have you thought of adding a bench and small arbor to the area? It would make a nice place for quiet reflection and contemplation. Very nice!

The part you don't see is the patio and deck near-by. The patio actually starts about a foot from the near edge of the pond. Lounge chairs and small chair-side tables to hold your beverage can be positioned as desired. Regrettably, I don't spend as much time out there as I should.
