It is kind of a special system, as it is constructed as a test-site for our smart aquaponics controller, the AquaShield Control. I just love IBC systems, so we built a simple setup with only one grow bed, a sump tank and a small biofilter.

The AquaShield is monitoring and controlling the whole system and it is responsible for scheduling the grow light and to control the flood and drain cycle through a solenoid valve.

Next to this, it is monitoring the PH, EC, ORP and Dissolved Oxygen parameters, as well as the air and water temperature, the relative humidity and light intensity of at the top of the plants.
