@boss - Thanks for the link, but i did not manage to find out how to help my plants or how to prevent it from happening again if i decides to pull out all of the effected plants, plus as it is in my GB i am not sure how long the bacteria/fungus will remain in my system.

@Anyone - Anyone know if distilled pyrolytic plant acid is safe to use? I read that it is used to cure wilt diseases.

Regards

Distilled pyrolytic plant acid :? - isn't liquid smoke one form of this? I can't speak to the safety of this but some versions do get used here. I tried out the bamboo version and while it's worked for others, it didn't do much against the pests I have here.

I think you guys mean: Pyroligneous acid

Pyroligneous acid, also called wood vinegar or wood acid,[3] is a dark liquid produced by the destructive distillation of wood and other plant materials.

I use it for pest control and sometimes germinating seeds. Used for pest control it's a winner, as for germinating seeds, I'm not fully convinced just yet and I need to do more trials, it might not be have been the product but a run of cold weather that caused one batch of seeds to fail.

Dasboot put me onto it and he swears by it, and used correctly I've found it to be a very good product.

You need to use the correct dilution rates for whatever you choose to use it for, any over strength mixture will burn your plants.

Did the leaves have small white powdery spots on it Curious? Looks like a different sort of issue to me. Maybe a downy mildew?
I've found potassium Bicarbonate makes for a better mildew treatment than the milk mix if that helps any Curious.
Did you get any fruit from them?

We lost our Armenians & other cuc's this season to powdery mildew & the melons have been hit hard with downy mildew. Has been a bit too wet & humid for most cucurbits here. Will be putting more in at the end of summer to grow through autumn & into winter.

Sorry it took a while to get back to you too mate.
Cheers.

@BnBob, scotty435, joblow - Sorry for the late reply, graphic card decided to kick the bucket causing power failur to my PC.

@scotty435 , joblow - This is the picture of the product, it only states distilled pyrolytic plant acid as its main ingredient.

@BnBob - Hmmm, it started with spots on the side of the leaf just like in the pic. Not sure if that can be considered powdery.

Then it will develop to the symptom shown in this photo, before the whole leaf dries up.

After a few days spots on the steam will start to show signs as shown in this photo. This will continue till the whole plant will be wilted.

Currently still no fruit from any of them, all i got was male flowers before the problem sets in and had been pulling the wilted ones out. Did notice a female flower today, hopefully it will get pollinated and i will get to store some seeds for future planting.

Regards

The two leaf pictures strongly resemble potassium deficiency and as for the stem it looks like damage that has been infected by a fungus or bacteria.... but I could be wrong.

@Curious I saw, from your thread, that your system really changed since the last time we chatted. You also seem to be having some issue with plant growth. I also saw u wanted some information about my design.. which btw changed alot as well.. to further released nutrients for your plants. Ironically I too am growing cucumbers and actually I'm going to focus on only growing cucumbers for commercial application in the future.

In saying that.. by chance you can tell me your water concentration values.. nitrates.. nitrite.. and ammonia values.. average pH and supplements you use. Hopefully we can find what's going on your your plants

@dasboot - Hmm. You might be right, but it is too late now all of the cucumbers and melons have been dead and uprooted. Will try spraying some potassium on to the eggplants to see if it correct the issue.

@Cookie - As of today my water parameters are PH 6.4, Amm .25, No2 and No3 is at 0 and the water temp is at 30'C in the afternoon. Been just foliar spraying some epson salt and iron onto the plants that looks like they have deficiency.

Yeah i expended, currently i have about 30 Red Tilapia and about 14 Bara in my system. Been noticing that recently although my water is still clear and i can see the bottom of my tank, the water is starting to have a brown tinge, any idea?

BTW what did you do to your system? Are you still running your in line MT net filter? If you are can you show a diagram on how it is design? BTW what are the pie sizes are you using? I am still trying to figure out how to calculate pipe sizes to use for the future, any advice?

Regards

@Curious my system is basically the same as before and yes I'm still running the inline MT..my only addition was a fluidized sand bed filter I designed and installed into my system to help with further mineralization of solids.
