Just put the system together not to long ago, water flowing for only 10 days so far. I have a couple design ideas in terms of my filter and getting it to double duty. Currently I have a swirl filter made up of a 55gal drum and 5gal water cooler bottle. The bottle acts as the swirl filter itself with a drain to waist built on, with the rest of any solids getting trapped by the 55gal drum. I want to put a divider in the tank to make it also work as a mineralization tank as well.

I could use any recommendations you have. I also started a YouTube channel (toledo aquaponics) to follow along with my journey

Fish tank is nothing special. All my feed pipes are 2" and my stand pipes on my grow beds are 3/4". I am using an active aqua 550 GPH pump using 1/2 tubing to cycle the system.
