With all that growth, you should have some blooms. Try adding some Potash and maybe some Calcium. Your outside, so pollination shouldn't be an issue.

Some would say using the swirl filters is over filtering

Other than the solids you are taking out I don't know of another method where nutrients would be leaving your system if its fully aerated.

ok. i didn't read it correctly either. i would say your plants are hungry. not for NPK but the micros, do you have plant life in or around the koi pond that could be using up your nutrients? If all else fails you can foliar feed the plants.

I had a pretty severe string algae bloom in the ground pond. With all the Koi in the other nothing was there to keep in under control. Another reason to get rid of it all together and replace it with an IBC sump tank. Would a regular dosing of Maxi crop help with the micro nutrients ? And suddenly yesterday I have a few dozen tomatoes starting to form, odd timing. :dontknow:

Yes on the Maxi Crop. I like Root Magic better. Not sure if it's available up in your area.

Algae blooms cause problems for a little while even after the algae is gone, no worries once your grow bed starts using nutrients faster than the algae you will see constant performance.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with the maxi crop product but it has very good online reviews. I use actual seaweed and in a viarity of ways. For very slow plants I foilar feed. If the product has directions for foilar feeding I suggest you start at half strength. If after 3> applications and you see improved fruit set then you can start playing around with doseing the AP water.

Nice to hear your getting toms form!
