The zucchini is flowering like mad so I put on some sexy music and went about pollinating them to max out the yield :laughing3:

So far I have:

Bhut Jolokia, cucumber, zucchini, beetroot, chives, parsley, lettuce, stevia, Lemongrass, strawberries, beans and coriander. All doing well.

Edit: the system is running timed flood and drain, this is mainly because I'm a lazy bugger and haven fitted the distribution square yet :naughty: but it seems to be going ok so I'll probably just leave it as is

Well all has been going nicely, though there are constantly 0 nitrates in the system, I had to pull all the zucc's due to powdery mildew taking over and thought this may free up some available ates, but still nothing.

SP's are slowing down on the feeding now as they go into slo mo

I'm going to get 10 trout from TM and whack em in. The SP's are 25cm now and have occupied the tank for a while so there shouldn't be too much trouble, if there is I'll knock up a screen to divide the tank into two sections.

The two GB's are planned to be heavily stocked for the next year so there should be no probs taking on the extra waste. If there is I'll add another GB

Hi Urrazeb,

things looking good. Always the Sump Tank access issue.
On one post somewhere I saw someone used a sliding rack for the GB's so they could access ST - that was quite nifty.

in earlier posts you mention pallets, and ripping a few down.
do you have a source (or anyone else in Perth) ?
After 3 or 4 - can PM me.

Pallets... try any wholesalers, back of retail electrical stores carry fridges/ovens etc, Bunnings over here they'll almost load your ute for you they are so happy to get rid of them,

go for a drive around warehouse/bulk stores/transport areas of town..
Thing I found is you never see then until you start picking them up and then the word gets out and they (almost) throw themselves at you.

About time for an update I think.

The SP are still quite small - 12cm
The trout are HUGE, some of the larger ones are up to about 30cm and fat buggers too.

The Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates are a little high, I have lightly salted the system and will be despatching a few trout this weekend as the water is getting warmer so not too bothered at this stage.

The system is pumping out the produce, and I am getting a feel for what goes best in the AP, peas lettuce basil ect are great, chili etc are not too great and I have better luck in the dirt with these.
