Love love love my garden (and the bees, birdies, and butterflies love it more!).

-Takes less than a day to find materials, build, and plant.
-About as inexpensive you can get.
-Uses entire vertical space in whatever sized area you want, easily scalable
-And best of all -- oh so very sustainable!

Materials: 100% recycled glass bottles (from bar or recycle bin near you), chains/hooks, air & water pumps, air stones, plumbing, & fish/seeds!

Here's an easy DIY guide to see how it was built (lots of pics). Also includes some of the big mistakes I made along the way so you can avoid! Aloha and enjoy ~maria

Thanks, JolieLaide! I actually sold my lil bottle garden to a local ecovillage when I moved across seas. I built a new one with rain gutters. I have to say, it was easier and less time consuming to build, but the bottles were prettier and actually worked better!!

*sigh*

I guess you never get over your first love.

Wine and liquor bottles are super sturdy, hard to break. I made a few chains using pretty thin beer bottles, which often cracked up like windshield glass, hard to cut yourself :wave1:
