Ryan suggested a yellow heirloom, I have ordered them. Now, I'm looking at another variety...any suggestions?

Came across some Black Prince Tomatoes at Home Depot a few weeks ago. Put them in my F/D GBs. Seem to be happy and doing well so far.

Black krims are great tasting, though they don't produce as much as other varieties (in my hands, at least).

Thanks guys. Jake...any favorites. i just put out some of the yellow pear one's that Ryan suggested. By the time they are ready to go, my Amelias(determinate) should be about done.

If you're not set on Heirlooms I really like Better Boy but usually grow it in the bucket garden since it gets pretty big (this is where I plant most of my tomatoes). This has really good flavor and is a good slicing tomato for hamburgers. It's also very reliable even though the climate is cool here.

I've grown Black Krim before and some years it does better than others but mostly I've had good but not spectacular results. I like the flavor of this one as well.

Brandywine is also a good heirloom if you don't have it already. The ones I've grown are the Pink versions.

Pineapple Tomatoes - good very large yellow tomato with great flavor but not lots of tomatoes.

Better Boy would be my first pick then Brandywine, Black Krim, then Pineapple tomato. Can't really go wrong with any of these though.

I've never liked yellow pear tomatoes if that's the one Ryan suggested. I think most of these are low acid and I like more bite but the flavor isn't quite what I like either. I know some people really like these so don't take my word for it, try them for yourself.

San Marzano and Roma are both good sauce tomatoes. I'd choose San Marzano for flavor but Roma VF produces way more for me.

Sweet Millions is a prolific and very good cherry tomato - If I could only grow one cherry tomato, this would be it.

If you have space issues Tiny Tim is a good cherry tomato (not nearly as prolific as Sweet Millions) but gets bigger than listed in AP and still no sign that it's really determinant (which they say it is).

Tigerella - Half dollar size tomatoes with good flavor but they split a little to easily when it rains, might be good for your area though.

Early Girl - good early Medium size tomato

There are others I've tried but I'll spare you since these are probably the best I've tried so far.

I ordered Black Krim from somewhere online and some of the seeds were a different variety that did amazingly well in my AP system. One vine was about 15 ft long and produced loads of golfball-sized fruit.

I wonder if you got an Indigo Rose tomato plant. They have golf ball size purple tomatoes.

I grew one of these this year and had 135 tomatoes on a single plant at one time. They bred this tomato for it's antioxidant properties but it's a bit difficult to tell when it's ripe if it's allowed to grow downward (you can only see where the sun strikes which is where the purple forms). I wasn't impressed by the flavor (watery) but they apparently intend to keep selecting within the gene pool for this. Since it's open pollenated, others might have had better luck on taste. If they ever get it right with production like this, it will be fantastic.
