Hi Charlie,

I'm still here :wave1:

Unfortunately, due to Real Life (tm) :) getting in the way, the AP (well really the whole house) has been languishing a bit this year.

Shortly after my previous post about the water levels being so off, I came to the conclusion that I had lost the barra I had in the tank. The system has been running fishless since then (with the occasional splash of charlie carp to try to keep things ticking over).

We have still been getting some produce, but the system hasn't exactly been thriving.

With things starting to settle down again now, I am looking at the best way to revive the system.

I went out to take some measurements this morning (ph 8.2, everything else 0), and found a nice algae bloom on the surface of the fish tank. Might explain why the plants are looking extra unhappy (I thought it might just have been from the hotter weather).

So the question is, should I dump some / all of the water to flush the junk out of the system (the water is also very green-murky), or am I likely to be able to get things going again as is??
(the water will go onto the garden instead of sprinklers, so it won't be wasted).

Yea, might be worth changing the water out instead of spending weeks trying to get it back to normal.
