Figured id start a thread here with a couple pics.
Last thursday 3-21 i went ahead and thru some lettuce in after doing my first water test. My nimbers looked good exept high Nitrate which figured cause i didnt have any plants. Water temp is good, just got my light last friday. the fish have been in there for bout week before i planted. few died first few days but ive only picked 1 out this week.

With any animals that need light ive always just done if suns out light on dark out light off. Does that still work with plants or is it Plant to plant ? Also is it normal that the lettuce i planted 5-6 days ago have already sprouted? I really didnt have any expection of them growing yet. figured i had lot more cycling to do.. I have heard lettuce does really well in aquaponics so is safe not to get my hopes up and think all is well yet?

Im gonna post few pics and if anyone has answers to what ive asked thanks ahead of time.


I also have got valves with a little hose on both gb's now thats not in this pic.

My light is a iPower GLSETX400DHMWING 400-Watt Light Digital Dimmable System for Plants - Wing Set.. 400 w HPS and a 400 w MH


Anyone know much about this light and bulbs, ive read that i need use the HPS for seedlings.. is that correct?
