Hey guys / gals. I just rewatchd the chop mark 2 video prior to making my start in earnest and am a bit confused about the IBC cage. In the video they take the bottom support of the cage for cutting purposes Thing is I don't know if they put it back on or do you leave it off? Can anyone help with one please?

If the IBC will be sitting on flat, even and sturdy ground you wont need the bottom on it. But obviously you need the cage around the IBC.

I was reluctant to chop my original test systems cage because I did not know how far I would take my system. I cut out the central horizontal bar just under the GB to make it easier to get the pump in and out of the lower section for cleaning (to the rear of this image).

This paid off later as I was able use it as an in ground sump with the GB on top for seedlings after I added more grow beds. This worked for me, I figured if it wall too awkward I could still chop the frame.
