Hey guys,

I have finally build my indoor system. It has a 39 gal growbed (CF) and a 38 gal fish tank.

The system is running for about two to three weeks now. Hopefully my fish (Tilapia) will arrive sometime next week.

I have some lettuce, tomatoes, green paper and strawberries.

I added two lights to better light the plants, since the sun is not getting in my window.

Hey,

I have a 750l pump @ zero head (1.4 max head) lifting water to 1,1m (hope you don't mind if I stop converting to imperial, it was much asier when I was in Australia).

Return line is a 40mm pipe reducing to 25mm and 40mm again. It is, as far as I can jugde, succing quite a bit of air in.

But boy it is noisy during the night. I have to thing about a silencer it ist hard to sleep.

Photos pls...

Use a large (enough) diameter vinyl air inlet line of sufficient length to hide the end behind the FT (i.e. use the FT as a sound barrier). You can place a sponge filter over the air inlet pipe which also considerably reduces the noise. If it's still noisy, pack the sponge filter tipped end into a cardboard box filled with scrunched up newspaper.

You don't need to convert to imperial for australians, we switched to metric quite some time ago.

Good luck with the system. Germany is my favorite country out of all the places i've visited outside of Australia, shame my German is not very good though.

One of the many highlights of our 2011 in Europe was to spend a few awesome days in Dresden. Everyone (here) remembers it for the WWII bombing... but its reconstruction is nothing short of inspiring.
