ohio state has done quite a few studies on growing out yp.. and feed training.. the fry are photosensitive, light is used to attract the fry to the feed..they've published their findings online, they were quite successful in raising fry
grading the sized would be important, but water quality will be the main thing in getting them to hatch..
i think a well cycled tank, using glass shrimp to eat any eggs that "fail" or develop algae would be a good start (the wheels have been spinning on this idea for a while)

Looks like a good idea. I see ghost shrimp are native across most of North America but I also see 65-80 for the temperature to grow these? Do you have to keep the temperature up for these guys to do cleanup or will they operate at the lower spawning temp of the Yellow Perch?

i've got a at least 20 ghost shrimp in a 55 gallon tank with crayfish right now and at least one of them is in berry.. water has been at 65-69 in that tank over the last couple weeks..and they seem ok..
gammarus may be better for cooler water but i don't know how they would interact with the eggs..or if they would do the same thing the glass shrimp do..i do have some gammarus so i'll probably find out..
right now i have 5 55 gallon tanks, 3 small tanks (5 or 10gal) and the pool, daphnia and gammarus are in the small tanks, + 5 buckets of greenwater culture..
1 55 gallon tank has a couple of papershell cray that are in berry (saw 3 pairs of crayfish mating in the pool this am) and 20 or so ghost shrimp..
1 55 gallon tank has 1 marmokreb and some rosy red minnow fry..
3 tanks are interconnecting and powering my growbed with yp and bg
the pool has at least 100 rosy reds and maybe 3 dozen crayfish..
i've got to get the pool connected to growbeds so i can move the yp and bg
and i've got to pick up a 120gal tank from a guy i work with (this is starting to look like a tilapia tank) as soon as i can
