Ball valve like this... not a "float" valve ala cattle/sheep troughs...

The above is in the "closed" postition.... at 90 degrees it would be "open".... anything in between throttles the flow...

The comfrey did awesome check out my recent post on the other threadi made viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9260&start=15

In the video while pulling out he comfrey you can kind of notice that the roots broke off. While cleaning it out more today to move it indoors for storage during the winter I did see much more root left in the bottom of the beds. Note that even without much tending to or nutrient adding or ph adjustment( wanted to see it lower itself but never did this summer) there was only small amount of damage to the leaves although the flowers were more noticably deficient being white usually and the stalks died off a lot faster than the dirt counter parts.
