Shouldn't be a problem.

No, constant flood will not hurt any plants that I know of, so dont stress.
Good save and hope the rest of the silvers get through. They are pretty tough .

Well its day 2 after the "incident" and all I can say is how remarkably resilient SP are.

I cleaned the pump and replaced some of the pipe work, and discovered 2 more floaters. But out of 65 (and considering how mush stress they we subjected too) I am amazed.

The last auto syphon has been fitted, and things are looking great. The water has cleared up considerably, and I can see some fish swimming around.

PH: 7.8
Ammonia: 0.25ppm
Nitrites: 0ppm
Nitrates: 40ppm

Phew!

I was lucky and got all of my gravel from my friend who was updating his AP system to expanded clay.

However I was looking at Soil World that had pea gravel 18mm for around $84 a trailer load.

Cheers :)

You should be able to get pea gravel from almost any soil yard, give your closest one a ring or try your nearest soils and soils..
