Yea you can probably do fine to put that grow bed over your tank, just turn one or the other sideways so you still have access to the bottom tank on one end or the other.

Of course if you are planning to expand, then perhaps planning now should be a bit different.

And your system there is probably quite a bit smaller than the green one pictured. That green one has a 500 liter grow bed while that bunk feeder I'm guessing is probably not even half that size. You will definitely need more grow beds and probably a bigger fish tank cause this is addictive.

If you don't have the space or don't want to dig in a sump tank, I can help you out with an Aquaponics Indexing valve to sequence the flood and drain of the grow beds and you could simply do stand pipes so as not to need to mess with siphons.

I'm in the Keys. I have no clue what an Indexing valve is and will take all the help I can get! I know I will need more beds and tanks etc, I'm a garden junkie so I'm really good at making space. I have gutters screwed to my fence with plants in them that's how bad I am. Where in Central Florida are you at?

There not cheep but over the life of the system I think it will work OK?

In my test system I have 1 bin of Clay ball and 1 with scoria. Hated going near the scoria ripped my hands apart every time. Also takes 2 people to just lift the 50l bin were I carried the 50l clay ball bin myself on the weekend to the new GB when I added them in as starter bacteria for the new system.

Also I found it used a lot less water to clean the clay which had a big bearing for me as I was using tank water to clean the media.

Hope all this helps? :D
