Seasol wont do anything for your bacteria - it will require ammonia of some form.

Myabe just leave it alone for a bit longer and see what it does.

Darn that was quick. Did a part water change with the larger system. That should give it some Am and Ni to play with.

Darn keep forgetting this one. It is time to finish this system. It has been a good starting point but. Maybe a redesign is in order. I was going to add the fish to the larger system but it still has a lot of nitrite. And after seeing how long a frog lasted in the pool I don't know how the goldies will go at the size they are. I will have to make a larger GB and find a bigger FT so the goldies can get bigger. And give them a bit more light.

They keep looking at me. Every time I pass them. Can almost read there 3 second mind. "Basted has filled another FT with gravel." I'll find them a new home.

New home for the time been. And the second photo is what I like to call goldie jumping. They have been having a ball swimming around and using the bubbles to launch themselves into the air. I have moved the air into the middle to stop them from finding the concrete.

Funny to see a nitrite test that is a pretty blue. At least I can top up this system from the larger one without having to add urea.

Got a sick goldie today. Put him in a smaller bucket with an airstone and a little salt. Overfeeding would be my guess. No food for a couple of days for him or his friends and a little salt in with the others.

Water is good. Still adding some from the larger system and the bacteria chew it up really fast.

Hi Dufflight,
I found this bit of info you wrote on Food&Fish's thread and I thought it was a great insight.
"Put the seeds in a tray in winter and kept them warm until they got out of the soil. And kept them inside of a night. If you put your seeding trays on the fridge in winter the heat gets them going. Later I'm going to use an old 6foot ice cream freezer that I can keep outside. Glass top and insulated. If you want one ask your local streets or peters supplier what they do with there old ones."

took me a while to find your system thread, are you still on the forum?
Dale

Still here. Have a larger system now. Goldies were added to the other system.

I've replaced the tin on the veranda with laser lite and now have a place to over winter seedlings and fruit trees.
