I agree with you that it is cost intensive in the first world. But here in the third world (indonesia) all they use is "flow through systems." Water comes in one end and flows out the other. Usually this water comes from the gutter system. As all the rice paddy is hooked up to it and it is the main supply of irrigation water they jut hook on too.

Hey GF:

Two rooms of the basement are drywalled (the walls are anyway). We are going to be drywalling the ceilings soon, and I need to build a wall for the third room. The AP stuff is in stasis until probably late XMas break, when I will have time to work on moving things down there.
