The day I set the passion fruit in the growbed and forgot about it, I also laid down about a 30 cm sprig of what we call Wandering Jew in the grow bed a couple of weeks later it had rooted and was taking off like crazy

Wandering Jew is nasty stuff you will never get that out of your system now :(

You only need a one inch segment of it and it will grow like the weed it is, it is designed to break at the leaf nodes which makes pulling it out very difficult. It floats down stream and populates new areas and just takes over.

At University (Bachelor of Forestry Science) we did an experiment where we took some and tried to kill it, even dousing it in bleach wouldn't kill the stuff.

The passionfruit on the other hand is awesome :D

Well, two years into this madness i did a harvest this last week. I netted 122 fillets, total 38 lbs. 140 whole fish with average weight of 1.6 lbs.

I have now restocked with 600 "super male" tilapia fingerling. I am replanting the grow beds as soon as the fingerings are acclimated to their surroundings. Two days and only 7 fish deaths. I really don't expect many since the system is so mature.

I am inserting 35 tomato vines in the next weeks. I will also plant lettuce, lima beans, green peppers, and some sweet corn.

I will be leaving El Salvador for a year in May of 2010 so it is time to do a last hurrah and then scale back for the house sitter.

Hi, DT! I have been meaning to get over there to visit, but events and finances conspire against me.

You leave in May? I need to visit you before you go. Maybe in November?
