I think I have seen mint been grown at the BYAP shop just floating over the fishtank. If it is convenient, it might be better to control mint since you just need to remove the foam to get it out.

That is a great idea. I will take a mint cutting and drop it on a raft in the pool. Will have to see how much Silvers like mint roots.

my silvers ate any roots which grew in their tank... mint ANT kangkong... try getting kangkong as it will grow on a raft and is food for you and your fish :D

Joel grew kang kong here at the shop last summer from seeds. We will be getting more seed when the weather warms up. It has a pretty white flower too :)

Although Kang kong ( Pak Buong) grows easy from seed ,, you can save yourself time and effort , just go to your local asian market and buy a bunch ,, it self roots and near every leaf joint ,, just stick some in a glass of water on the window sill.
